this is going to be a short one.
Today it rained. It rained most of the day, which completely altered our plans of visiting the polluted Orange River and the still smoking coal mine. However, it turns out that Ben had plenty of other work to do and Mark had, too, and so we used the day for other things...
We are supposed to be packing right now...bc there are just THINGS about... that are not in any bag or box yet must be by tomorrow morning. We are apparently avoiding this task at all costs. All i really want to do is sleep.
I have been fighting with iphoto for hours. I sucked all of our 9000 photos off of the G5 onto my laptop (since we are leaving the G5 with our cats' foster mom, Ange) and then i made the brilliant maneuver of dumping the thumbnails. for no real reason other than they anoyed me. i am now more vexed than i ever would have been from useless thumbnails. I am having to duplicate all 9000 photos and then delete the originals bc they've become corrupted. all bc i threw away their thumbnails. who knew. now i do.
waste produced today: wrapping from Ben's new version of Final Cut.
crap! we were doing so good! I got our bagels this morning put into tupperware and our coffee poured into our stainless steel mugs (made light from milk in quart cartons and stirred with our chopstick). Our lunch was leftovers out of washable tupperware. The Pizza guy totally served us our slices on one of the metal baking sheets, and Beehive coffee gave us free Thai iced tea in a hard plastic cup to be washed after. But Final Cut came wrapped in celophane that cannot be reused in any way. Ah, packaging.
Anyway, at the end of the day, the sun came out just for a minute, just after Ben had left to go do his very last show of Oxymoron at citytheatre, and i looked out the window to see this rainbow. Rainbows always makes me feel glad for the rain.
